Police are investigating a shooting after, officials said, a man was injured in a shooting that happened outside of a movie theater on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus on Tuesday night.
According to police, the incident happened just after 10 p.m., when a man — who police did not immediately provide further identifying information on — was shot in the arm outside of the Cinemark movie theater at 40th and Walnut streets in West Philadelphia.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but officials did not immediately provide further details on the severity of the man’s injuries or his condition.
According to police, however, the victim was not a student or staff member from the university.
Police believe the suspected shooter in this incident fled the scene in a silver Ford Taurus.
Also, officials said that, overnight, investigators believe they recovered the car involved in this incident at 49th and Aspen streets.
However, police did not say if they had made an arrest in this case as of about 5:30 a.m.
