S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A new Lehigh Valley business is offering fresh fruit, coffee, sandwiches and other food and drinks alongside household necessities such as toiletries, cleaning products and over-the-counter medicine.

South Whitehall Market, a family-run store offering grocery staples, convenience items and more, opened about a week ago at 2428 Walbert Ave. in South Whitehall Township.

Customers can shop a wide array of beverages, including soda, juices, iced tea and sports drinks, along with canned goods, cookies and condiments such as ketchup, mustard, jelly, peanut butter, Nutella and mayonnaise.

The market also carries frozen foods such as Eggo waffles; pantry staples such as Bisquick, sugar and ramen noodles; paper products such as paper plates and paper towels; and toiletries such as deodorant, toothbrushes, tissues and shampoo and conditioner.

“We have a little bit of everything,” owner Sunil Rabari told 69 News.

Rabari operates South Whitehall Market with his son, Raj Rabari.

The pair also operates five other convenience and grocery stores in Philadelphia and Montgomery County.

South Whitehall Market, open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, occupies an updated building that previously housed a medical center.

Other market goods include firewood; candy and chips; produce such as apples and bananas; cleaning products such as dish soap, laundry detergent and all-purpose cleaner; and over-the-counter medicine such as antacids, pain relievers and cough drops.

Tobacco products, lottery tickets, skill machines and an ATM are also available.

A deli counter, serving freshly prepared hot and cold sandwiches, sides and more, is expected to be added later this month, Sunil said.

Additionally, beer sales should start within the next few months.
