The next round for the city’s small business grants starts Thursday, and applications are now open.
The City of Erie’s Flagship Grant Fund is a program designed to provide financial assistance for small businesses in Erie.

This year, funding awards will be granted up to $5,000, but a one-to-one funding match is required, meaning businesses will also have to put $5,000 of their own into their project.
Chris Groner, the city’s director of development services, said they’ve helped fund 154 small businesses since the program started in 2018.

“It’s meant to help with things like signage, facade improvements, equipment, so we’re looking for businesses, they can be startups, they can be existing businesses. It’s really just meant to be a helping hand,” said Groner.
