BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 30-year-old township woman is in custody after firing a shot at someone during an altercation last week at an apartment complex.

Bensalem Police responded at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday to The Commons Apartment Complex at 1900 Park Avenue for multiple reports of an armed person and shots fired.

Police said that multiple subjects from two separate apartments were involved in a physical altercation that stemmed from one of the two people setting off fireworks.

An investigation by police revealed that during the altercation, 30-year-old Tiara Blackston, who lives in the apartment complex, produced a firearm from her pocket and fired one round at the other person involved in the altercation.

Bensalem Police said the victim was not struck by the bullet.

Police were able to recover the firearm, a 9mm Taurus handgun, and Blackston was taken into custody.

Blackston was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment of another person, possessing an instrument of crime, and harassment.

Blackston was arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Lisa J. Gaier with bail set at $250,000 with 10 percent. Blackston was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
