A group of local kids will be sleeping much more comfortably, thanks to the help of Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley.

The Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation partnered with Ashley Furniture and the Salvation Army to host a special “Hope to Dream” event on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Phield House in Philadelphia.

At the event, Barkley and members of the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation surprised dozens of underserved children with brand-new beds, mattresses, and essential bedding.

The Eagles’ running back also got the chance to meet with the families and celebrate with the children.

The event also featured kid-friendly activities, music, and a special moment as families saw their new beds staged across the Phield House facility.

“Everyone, especially children, should have a bed to sleep comfortably,” said Barkley’s mom, Tonya Johnson, who is the Vice President of the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation. “Our foundation’s goal is to make sure every child, and family is set up for success. Beginning your day rested and ready to go is vital for physical and mental well-being. Thank you to Ashley, The Salvation Army, and the Phield House for joining our mission and making this possible.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children and teens who do not get enough sleep have a higher risk of many health problems.

When children get proper sleep, they stay focused, improve their concentration and achieve better academic performance.

“Every child deserves a bed of their own — and the comfort, security, and dignity that comes with it,” said Tara Kelly, VP of Marketing for Ashley and Regency Management Services. “We are honored to partner with The Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation and The Salvation Army to bring hope and comfort to families right here in Philadelphia. This event is about supporting children in their dreams and in their everyday lives.”
