SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One person has been displaced after a fire broke out at a home across the street from the Lackawanna County Prison.

Firefighters responded to a house fire around 9:20 a.m. Thursday on the 1300 block of North Washington Avenue, across the street from the Lackawanna County Prison in Scranton.

Car crash closes part of I-80 eastbound

There were no injuries, and one person was displaced from the home. The deputy chief said the house is condemned for the rest of the day.

Crews worked with officials from Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL) to terminate electrical service to the house.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
