One of the nation’s most popular German-style Christmas markets is about to open its festive gates in Bethlehem.

ArtsQuest’s annual Christkindlmarkt return to the SteelStacks campus for six weekends beginning Friday and running through Dec. 21. The market, presented by Univest, draws visitors to experience a traditional European-style holiday celebration in the Lehigh Valley.

Dozens of artisan vendors from across the United States will sell handcrafted items, including ornaments, woodwork, glass art, apparel and jewelry. Visitors can also enjoy festive food and family-friendly activities throughout the season.

The market will operate on select long weekends: Nov. 14-16, Nov. 21-23, Nov. 28-30, Dec. 4-7, Dec. 11-14 and Dec. 18-21. Hours vary by day, with Thursday and Sunday sessions running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Friday and Saturday hours extend from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Admission, food, beverages and official merchandise purchases will require cashless payment through debit or credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay or ArtsQuest CashCards. Individual artisan vendors may accept cash payments at their discretion.

Several ticketed special events will accompany the market, including Breakfast with St. Nick, a Holiday Martini Tasting with Mishka and First Impressions: A Holiday Speed Dating Experience. ArtsQuest members at the Silver level or above receive complimentary season admission.

Weekday admission costs $12 when purchased in advance and $13 at the gate on Thursdays and Fridays. Weekend tickets are priced at $14.50 in advance and $15.50 on the day of the event. Weekend prices include the City of Bethlehem amusement tax.

Visitors can take advantage of free admission for all guests on Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. Children 5 and under and ArtsQuest Bronze members get a discounted rate. Groups of 20 or more can receive a discount by purchasing tickets in advance through hospitality@artsquest.org.
