Route 100 is scheduled to be closed for 40 hours this weekend, for Norfolk Southern Corp. railroad crossing rehabilitation work in Upper Macungie Township.

The road will be closed between Schantz Road and Penn Drive in Breinigsville starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, and lasting until 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Norfolk Southern says it will perform a full crossing rehabilitation during the closure.

Motorists will be detoured using Route 100, Interstate 78, and Route 222. Rain forecast this weekend is not expected to cause delays to the work schedule, according to PennDOT.
