FRANKLIN TWP., Pa. – Three people were taken to the hospital after a fiery one-vehicle crash on Rt. 248 in Carbon County.
County officials say that the crash happened just after 3:00 p.m. in Franklin Township in the westbound lanes of 248, just outside of Lehighton.
Franklin Township fire crews responded and extinguished the flames, according to officials.
Township police say the three occupants managed to get out of the vehicle, but the extent of their injuries are not known at this time.
Both westbound lanes were closed for nearly two hours, but that section of Rt. 248 is now re-opened to all traffic.
