Mary Jean Foley

OBITUARY

Mary Jean Foley, 88, a resident of Scranton, died Tuesday in Geisinger CMC. She was the widow of Joseph Foley and the couple were married for 64 years. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Ciesielski Sevitski. She was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish and was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was a retired employee of Equifax. Mary Jean enjoyed cruises and traveling with her husband and Florida in winter. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her sons; Joseph W. Foley and wife Mary Ann, Dickson City, and John J. Foley and wife Wendy, Olyphant, grandchildren; Krista Cox and husband Ryan, John Foley, Jr., Michael Foley and Travis Foley and wife Norma, great grandchildren; Michael Foley, Conner Cox and Bella Foley, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son Thomas M. Foley and her granddaughter Amanda Foley and three sisters; Stella Vosnovich, Florence Solosky and Irene Backus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 AM in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 1217 Prospect Ave. by Rev. Jonathan Kuhar, Pastor.
