Sherrod was deeply involved in numerous organizations and community projects across Erie, including Bayfront NATO, the Minority Community Investment Coalition, and Our West Bayfront.
Beyond his civic contributions, Sherrod was a standout athlete, playing football at Mercyhurst University from 1981 to 1985. His achievements earned him a place in the university’s Hall of Fame.
