ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Downtown Allentown is getting a bit more friendly.

It’s all thanks to the new Hospitality Ambassador Program!

Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk and other officials gathered for the launch earlier on Friday night.

A team of ambassadors will be out and about around Hamilton street and beyond.

The purpose? All to help make downtown more welcoming to visitors.

“The hope is that – through a program like this – people who are coming to Allentown for the first time have that welcome and have somebody who can get them to the spot they need to be, help them with parking, let them know what’s happening in the Downtown today,” said Mayor Matt Tuerk.

The ambassador program will be operated by Block by Block — who also run the SouthSide Ambassadors program in Bethlehem.
