Downtown Pittsburgh’s 110th Christmas tree being installed ahead of Light Up Night

Downtown Pittsburgh’s Christmas tree is being installed at its final destination for next week’s lighting ceremony.The city’s 110th Christmas tree, a 40-foot Norway Spruce, was cut down from Leslie Park in Lawrenceville and loaded onto a flatbed. The tree is being installed outside the City-County building throughout the morning and will be decorated from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Drivers should expect multiple delays and rolling traffic closures in the area from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. along Butler Street, beginning at 46th Street toward the 62nd Street Bridge, proceeding South on Route 28 towards the Veterans Bridge to Crosstown Boulevard exiting onto Grant Street. The tree will be lit on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. as part of the Highmark Light Up Night festivities. It’s one of the many events for the night.
