The Erie County Health Department and Community Health Center recently announced the addition of Hannah Schoen, a family nurse practitioner, to its team of dedicated health care providers, according to a news release.

A local native, Schoen is accepting new patients across all ages, with a specialization in women’s health and prenatal care, the release said.

The addition of Schoen strengthens the Erie County Health Department and Community Health Center’s commitment to delivering comprehensive and high-quality care across its service area, according to the release.

She is no stranger to Erie County Health Department and Community Health Center patients, the release said.

During clinical rotations, Schoen worked at Erie County Health Department and Community Health Center, proving care to individuals throughout the region.

With her specialized background, she will be instrumental in expanding essential women’s health services to residents in Erie, Huron and Ottawa counties, the release said.

While Schoen brings specialized expertise in women’s health and pediatrics, she is accepting new and established patients for the full spectrum of family practice needs, according to the release.

This includes routine check-ups, chronic disease management, and acute care for patients of all ages, ensuring comprehensive health care access for the entire community, the release said.

“I am eager and excited to provide specialized, high-quality care to all individuals in our community,” Schoen said in the release. “Having been born and raised right here in Sandusky, it’s an honor to return and serve the health needs of my neighbors, particularly in the critical areas of prenatal care and general women’s wellness.”

Schoen brings a strong clinical and academic background to the center.

She is a graduate of the FRMC School of Nursing, holds a bachelor of science in nursing from Bowling Green State University and earned her master of science in nursing from the University of Cincinnati.
