An investigation is underway, police said, after a man was shot and killed in an incident that happened along South 18th Street in Philadelphia’s Graduate Hospital neighborhood early Sunday.
According to police, officers responded to the 1000 block of South 18th Street at about 1:20 a.m. on Sunday after a man was shot multiple times.
The individual — who police did not immediately provide further information on — was taken to a nearby hospital where, officials said, he was pronounced shortly after arriving at the medical facility.
Contacted early Sunday, police were not immediately able to provide further information on what lead to the shooting or say if any arrests had been made.
But, officials said, an investigation is ongoing.
As of Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, there were 192 reported homicides in Philadelphia so far this year, down more than 14% from the same time last year which ultimately saw the lowest number of homicides in a decade, according to police data.
