The Erie City Mission is rebranding its thrift stores. The shopping centers formerly known as Thrifty Shopper, will now be known as the Erie City Mission Thrift.
The change in name and updated logos, signs and more, represent a shift away from having a similar look and feel to many other thrift stores in the area, according to the City Mission.
The Mission says they hope the new look will help shoppers connect with the store and its programs.
“Erie City Mission Thrift, formally known as the Thrifty Shopper, is proud to announce its official rebranding,” said Colby Tucker, director of social enterprise at the Erie City Mission. “While our identity is evolving, our core mission stays the same. Through our retail stores, we have the unique opportunity to involve our customers in our work of helping those in need right here in Erie. Whether it’s through shopping at our stores or donating their gently used items, every dollar spent goes directly to fund our local programs and initiatives.”
Proceeds from Erie City Mission Thrift benefit the Mission. All proceeds stay local and directly help those in need within the Samaritan Care Men’s Shelter, New Life Program for Men & Women, public breakfast and lunch, and the Urban University Program.
Erie City Mission Thrift has locations in Erie and Girard. The Girard location was recently expanded.
The Erie City Mission will celebrate the rebrand with an Open House and ribbon cutting. The Open House for the Erie location will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 11 a.m. and the Open House for the Girard location will be held on Friday, March 14 at 11 a.m.
