Impact: Strong winds persist through the evening across south-central Pennsylvania

Winds have been kicking all day today, with gusts upwards of 50 MPH! Winds relax slightly heading into Monday and feels like temps into the 20s and 30s, then a chance of showers to come this week.

HAPPEN AROUND OTHER STARS. WELL, RYAN, HERE IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM AND HERE IN THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, IT WAS SO WINDY. I MEAN, WE WERE SAYING YOU COULD FEEL MOVING YOUR CAR. I COULD FEEL IT MOVING ME ON THE SIDEWALK. IT’S REALLY GUSTY OUT THERE. YEAH. IT WAS I WAS ON 283 EARLIER TODAY. AND I’LL TELL YOU WHAT, THERE WAS A FEW TIMES WHERE I WAS, I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED THAT I WAS GOING TO GET BLOWN OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WAS THAT STRONG WIND GUSTS UPWARDS OF 40 TO 50MPH ACROSS THE MAJORITY OF THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, BUT STORM TEAM, LIVE RADAR NETWORK, I WANTED TO SHOW YOU THIS BECAUSE WE’RE SEEING SOME SHOWERS ON THE ON THE RADAR NETWORK. BUT WHAT I WILL MENTION IS THAT I WAS WATCHING THE HARRISBURG SKYCAM EARLIER, THAT PRECIPITATION WASN’T MAKING IT TO THE GROUND. WHAT WE CALL THAT, THAT IS WHAT’S KNOWN AS VIRGA. THAT’S BASICALLY PRECIPITATION THAT FALLS, BUT WITH DRY AIR TOWARDS THE SURFACE OR CLOSE TO THE SURFACE DOESN’T ACTUALLY MAKE IT TO THE GROUND. SO YOU’RE PROBABLY NOT SEEING A WHOLE LOT OUT THERE IN TERMS OF RAIN. BUT WHAT YOU ARE SEEING A BUNCH OF ARE A LOT OF THESE, A LOT OF THINGS GETTING BLOWN ACROSS THE ROADWAYS. THAT’S WHAT I’LL SAY. WIND ALERTS IN TERMS OF THE WIND ADVISORY THAT WILL BE IN EFFECT UNTIL 12 A.M. MONDAY. SO WE STILL HAVE SEVERAL HOURS LEFT TO GO, BUT IT’S STILL FOR THE ENTIRE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. WE’VE HAD AGAIN, WINDS, BUT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 30MPH, GUSTS TO THE 40 TO 50 MILE PER HOUR RANGE. SO IT’S STILL GOING TO BE A WINDY EVENING. AND THAT’S WHY WE’VE LEFT THE IMPACT PERIOD UP UNTIL ABOUT 12 A.M. FOR MONDAY. STILL GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT BLUSTERY AS WE GET INTO OUR MONDAY, WITH FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES GETTING INTO THE 30S, EVEN THE 20S, AS WE GET INTO THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD. LIGHT WINDS THOUGH, AS WE GET INTO TUESDAY, IT WILL BE A LITTLE BIT COOLER TEMPERATURES INTO THE MID 40S. SO WE’LL START TO RELAX IN THOSE WINDS HEADING INTO LATER IN THE WEEK. SO FOR THIS EVENING, EXPECT PARTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS WITH FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES INTO THE 30S FOR THIS EVENING. AGAIN, RUNNING THAT IMPACT PERIOD UNTIL 12 A.M. FOR TONIGHT. DIDN’T PUT THAT IMPACT ICON BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT IT ENDS AT 12 A.M. OR THE WIND ADVISORY. AND ALSO THE THREATS REALLY START TO LOWER BY THE TIME WE GET TO 12 A.M., SO IT DIDN’T REALLY PUT THE IMPACT ICON THERE. BUT I DO EXPECT TO SEE, ESPECIALLY TOWARDS OUR FAR NORTHWESTERN COMMUNITIES IN THE MOUNTAINS, COULD SEE SOME ISOLATED FLURRIES OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. THEN FOR TOMORROW, TEMPERATURES INTO THE MID 40S WITH PARTLY SUNNY CONDITIONS. HERE’S SOME OF THE WIND REPORTS FROM TODAY. HUMMELSTOWN, SHREWSBURY, MARION, FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, NEWVILLE ALL INTO THE 40 MILE PER HOUR RANGE. YOU CAN SEE THE TOP WIND SPEED THERE RIGHT AROUND 48MPH FOR BOTH HUMMELSTOWN AND SHREWSBURY. HERE’S CURRENT WIND SPEEDS RIGHT NOW OUT OF THE NORTHWEST AT 25MPH IN LANCASTER. 21MPH IN LEBANON, 14MPH IN LEWISTOWN, 20MPH IN CHAMBERSBURG. BUT HERE’S THE WIND GUSTS AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD. STILL GOING TO BE GUSTY OVERNIGHT, SO I’LL DEFINITELY SAY IT’S GOING TO BE A BIT NOISY IN TERMS OF YOUR WINDOWS WHISTLING AS WE GET INTO THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD. AND HERE’S THE FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES OVER THE NEXT 12 HOURS GETTING INTO THE LOWER 30S UPPER 20S RANGE. AS WE GET INTO CLOSER TO MONDAY MORNING. SO FROM NOW TILL 12 A.M., LEAVING THAT IMPACT PERIOD FOR THE SUSTAINED WINDS BETWEEN 15 TO 25MPH, WITH 40 TO 50 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS POSSIBLE, STILL COULD SEE SOME ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES OR FLICKERS IN THE LIGHTS, AND ALSO SOME DEBRIS ON THE ROADWAYS. SO JUST BE AWARE OF THAT AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THE NIGHT. TONIGHT, 59 IS WHAT WE HIT FOR OUR SUNDAY. OFFICIALLY THAT HAPPENED AT MIDNIGHT. 54 DEGREES IS WHAT WE EXPECT FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. BUT THAT 59, THAT WAS ALL THANKS TO THE WARM FRONT THAT PUSHED THROUGH LATE LAST NIGHT. TEMPERATURES INTO THE 40S RIGHT NOW, UPPER 30S TOWARDS LEWISTOWN. HERE’S SOME OF THAT PRECIPITATION AGAIN, NOT MAKING IT TO THE GROUND, NOT GETTING ANY PRECIPITATION. REPORTS ON THE SURFACE. YOU CAN SEE SOME LAKE EFFECT ENHANCED SNOW TOWARDS ERIE AT THIS TIME. AND NORTHWEST PORTIONS OF THE OF THE OF THE COMMONWEALTH. AS WE GET INTO OUR MONDAY MORNING, COLDER AND WINDY START, YOU CAN SEE JUST WE’LL SEE SOME MAINLY SUNNY CONDITIONS. THAT’S ALL THANKS TO HIGH PRESSURE THAT’S BUILDING IN FROM THE SOUTH. BUT AS WE START OUR DAY TUESDAY, WE DO SEE CLOUDS TO START OR EXCUSE ME, MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES TO START. ONCE WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON, THAT’S WHEN THE CLOUDS WILL START TO BUILD. I AM WATCHING A LITTLE BIT OF A DISTURBANCE THAT’S GOING TO START TO MAKE ITS WAY THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON TUESDAY, LASTING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING. WE COULD SEE SOME SHOWERS, POTENTIAL FEW SHOWERS, SCATTERED SHOWER ACTIVITY AS WE GET INTO OUR TUESDAY. AND SO THAT’S WHAT WE’RE EXPECTING AS WE GET INTO THE FIRST COUPLE DAYS OF THE WORKWEEK. BUT IN TERMS OF YOUR 8 TO 14 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK, LOOKING AT SOME SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION AND THEN 8 TO 14 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK LOOKING SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE FOR. THAT’S VALID FOR NOVEMBER 23RD THROUGH THE 29TH. SO YOU SEE TEMPERATURES GOING ON THE INCLINE FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. CHANCE O
