Strong winds persist through tonight; shower chances rise Tuesday across south-central Pennsylvania

Winds have been kicking all day today, with gusts upwards of 50 MPH! Winds relax slightly heading into Monday and feels like temps into the 20s and 30s, then a chance of showers to come this week.

AROUND OTHER STARS. LIVE RADAR NETWORK SHOWING SOME ELEVATED SHOWERS YOU CAN SEE HIGHLIGHTED TOWARDS OUR NORTHWESTERN COMMUNITIES. ALSO THE CHANCE OF OR ALSO WHAT WE’RE SEEING IS SOME LIGHTER SNOW SHOWER ACTION UP TOWARDS LEWISTOWN, UP TOWARDS PORTIONS OF NORTHERN PORTIONS OF MIFFLIN COUNTY. ALSO, NORTHERN PORTIONS OF JUNIATA COUNTY AT THIS TIME. BUT YOU CAN SEE AS IT’S MAKING ITS WAY NORTH, OR EXCUSE ME, AS IT’S MAKING ITS WAY SOUTH EAST AT THIS TIME, YOU CAN SEE REALLY JUST TRANSITIONS BACK TO RAIN, BUT IT’S NOT REALLY I’M NOT GETTING ANY RAIN REPORTS ON THE GROUND. SO I DEFINITELY BELIEVE THAT THIS IS VIRGA IS WHAT’S HAPPENING, WHICH IS PRECIPITATION THAT DRIES UP BEFORE IT EVEN HITS THE GROUND. THAT’S WHAT THAT IS IN IN IN THE SHORT DEFINITION. BUT BIG THEME THOUGH TODAY WAS WERE THE WINDY CONDITIONS, THE BLUSTERY CONDITIONS, VERY WINDY DAY OUT TODAY STILL GOING TO BE A WINDY NIGHT ACROSS THE AREA. WE’LL HAVE GUSTS POTENTIALLY GETTING TO 35MPH OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. STILL GOING TO BE A BLUSTERY MONDAY. FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES INTO THE 20S AND 30S TO START YOUR MORNING. SO MOMS AND DADS FOR YOUR KIDS TOMORROW MORNING, YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO BUNDLE THEM UP WITH THE HAT, SCARVES, THE HEAVIER COAT, BECAUSE IT’S GOING TO FEEL LIKE THE MID 20S AS WE GET INTO TOMORROW MORNING. THEN LIGHTER WINDS AS WE GET INTO OUR TUESDAY. COOL MID 40S. THAT’S WHAT WE’RE EXPECTING FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS OF THE WORKWEEK. BUT FOR THE REST OF THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD, EXPECT PARTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS, TEMPERATURES BOTTOMING OUT, BOTTOMING OUT IN THE MID 30S. THAT THAT ISOLATED FLURRY ACTION TOWARDS OUR NORTHWESTERN COMMUNITIES THAT WILL PERSIST AS WE GET INTO THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD TOMORROW MORNING. PARTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS, BLUSTERY AND CHILLY, STILL 40 DEGREES TOMORROW AFTERNOON. PARTLY SUNNY, BLUSTERY. FEELS LIKE 3030 DEGREES AS WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON, BUT HERE’S SOME OF THE PEAK WIND GUSTS. REPORTS FROM EARLIER TODAY. 53MPH IN LITITZ IN HARRISBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, 52MPH IN REIDSVILLE, NEWPORT AND THOMASVILLE INTO THE MID TO UPPER 40S RANGE. IN TERMS OF THAT WIND SPEED. BUT CURRENT WIND SPEEDS AT THIS TIME COMING IN OUT OF THE WEST NORTHWEST BETWEEN, I’D SAY, 15 TO 25MPH AS THE GENERAL RANGE ACROSS THE AREA. BUT AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD AND ALSO GETTING INTO TOMORROW, THE WINDS STAY ELEVATED. SO I WOULD SAY IT’S GOING TO BE A BIT OF A NOISY NIGHT AS WE GET INTO OUR AS WE GET INTO TONIGHT, ALSO INTO MONDAY. STILL GOT GUSTS UP INTO THE 30S, BUT THE FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES. IT’S GOING TO FEEL LIKE ONCE AGAIN 7:00, 9:00 INTO THE UPPER 20S, FEELING LIKE THE LOWER 30S AS WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON FOR TOMORROW. ALMANAC FOR THE DAY TODAY WE HIT A HIGH OF 59 DEGREES, BUT IT DEFINITELY DIDN’T FEEL LIKE THAT EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON. THE REASON WHY THIS IS SO HIGH IS BECAUSE WE HAD A WARM FRONT COME THROUGH AND ALLOWED TEMPERATURES TO RISE INTO THE UPPER 50S. AND SO THAT’S WHAT WE CALL A MIDNIGHT HIGH, WHERE THE HIGH TEMPERATURE HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, BUT USUAL HIGH FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR IS 54 DEGREES. TEMPERATURES AT THIS TIME INTO THE LOWER 40S. YOU CAN SEE 39 DEGREES IN LEWISTOWN. STILL GOT SOME OF THAT LIGHT FLURRY ACTION TOWARDS OUR NORTHWESTERN COMMUNITIES. AND THAT’S ALL THANKS TO SOME LAKE ENHANCED. PRECIPITATION FROM LAKE HURON AND ERIE. BUT IT’S STILL GOING TO BE A WINDY NIGHT, FOLKS. AND ALSO A BLUSTERY MONDAY. AND THAT’S WHAT WE HAVE HIGHLIGHTED HERE. WITH THE COLDER AND WINDY CONDITIONS. GOT THOSE BLUE ARROWS COMING IN FROM THE NORTHWEST. HIGH PRESSURE DOES BUILD IN AS WE GET INTO OUR TUESDAY, BUT WHAT I DO EXPECT TO SEE ANOTHER DISTURBANCE BEGIN TO MOVE THROUGH, ESPECIALLY AS WE GET CLOSER TO CLOSER TO THE AFTERNOON. WE ARE EXPECTING A FEW SHOWER CHANCES IN TERMS OF THE TIME. RIGHT AROUND 230 IN THE AFTERNOON. THAT’S WHEN WE CAN EXPECT TO SEE SOME OF THAT DISTURBANCE ACTION BECOME THE OR START TO MOVE THROUGH, ALLOWING US THAT SHOWER CHANCE. AND THEN AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THE EVENING, A LITTLE BIT MORE SCATTERED IN NATURE AS WE GET INTO LATER TUESDAY. SO FOR THE REST OF THE TEN DAY FORECAST, YOU CAN SEE THE FEW SHOWER CHANCES AS WE GET INTO OUR TUESDAY COOLER AS IT’S STILL COOL AS WE GET INTO OUR WEDNESDAY, A LITTLE MILDER AS WE GET INTO THURSDAY, CLOUD COVER DOES BEGIN TO INCREASE AND WE HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE OF SOME SHOWERS AS WE GET INTO FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, A
