Showers Return Tuesday In South Central Pennsylvania, Some Snow North

Scattered showers arrive to the Susquehanna Valley by late Tuesday afternoon. Some snow may mix with rain at elevation Tuesday evening.

IT WAS ANOTHER WINDY DAY OUT THERE ACROSS THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. AT TIMES, WIND GUSTS WERE IN EXCESS OF 40MPH. THE WINDS ARE GOING TO START DYING DOWN DURING THE NEXT FEW HOURS, AND THE THICK CLOUD COVER THAT WE’VE HAD ACROSS MUCH OF THE VALLEY FOR MOST OF THE DAY WILL BREAK UP AS WELL, BUT IT’S STILL BRISK OUT THERE. WE’RE AT 42 RIGHT NOW IN EPHRATA, BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT’S JUST 34 DEGREES. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE CURRENT WINDS RIGHT NOW, SUSTAINED AT 16MPH IN LANCASTER, BUT UP TO 20MPH IN LEWISTOWN. YOU CAN SEE THAT VEIL OF CLOUDS ROUGHLY FROM CARLISLE DOWN TO LANCASTER COUNTY. WE WILL SEE THE CLOUDS BREAK UP AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM THE WEST, AND WE’LL SEE THE WINDS RELAX AS WELL. BUT THIS IS WHAT’S COMING DOWN THE PIKE. YOU CAN SEE THE SHOWERS RIGHT NOW OVER SOUTH DAKOTA INTO IOWA AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA. THAT’S THE STORM SYSTEM THAT GETS HERE TOMORROW EVENING. SO FOR THIS EVENING WE’LL SEE. IMPROVING CONDITIONS AND DECREASING CLOUD COVER. TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR 40 DEGREES DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. AND LOWS TONIGHT WILL BE IN THE LOW TO MID 30S WITH THE LIGHTER WINDS. BUT FOR TOMORROW WE’LL START THE DAY OFF WITH SOME SUNSHINE, BUT CLOUDS WILL THICKEN UP AND GIVE WAY TO SOME ROUNDS OF RAIN. AND YES, THERE COULD BE SOME SNOWFLAKES TRYING TO MIX IN WITH THE RAIN AT TIMES. AT ELEVATION TOMORROW EVENING, SO THE RAIN CHANCES HOLD OFF UNTIL WE GET CLOSER TO ABOUT 2 TO 3:00. BETTER CHANCES FOR THOSE SCATTERED SHOWERS BE AROUND THIS TIME TOMORROW. MADE IT TO 48 FOR OUR HIGH TODAY. START THE DAY OFF AT 39, BUT THANKS TO THE INTENSE WINDS, IT FELT LIKE IT WAS IN THE 20S AND 30S THROUGHOUT THE DAY. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE CURRENT TEMPERATURES. WE’RE 43 RIGHT NOW IN LEBANON. 42 FOR YOU FOLKS IN CARLISLE. THE SAME IN LANDISBURG, BUT IT’S EVEN COOLER OFF TO OUR WEST WHERE WE DO HAVE CLEAR SKIES OUT TOWARDS PITTSBURGH RIGHT NOW, SITTING AT 37 DEGREES. SO THAT VEIL OF CLOUDS THAT’S BEEN WITH US THANKS TO THE INTENSE WINDS MOVING OVER THE GREAT LAKES, WILL START TO BREAK UP AS THIS RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE GETS A LITTLE CLOSER TO US. NOTICE TOMORROW MORNING, HERE COMES MORE CLOUDS IN FROM THE WEST, AND IT’S A FAST MOVING STORM SYSTEM THAT WILL BRING ROUNDS OF SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS. BY THE TIME WE GET CLOSER TO SUNSET. BUT NOTICE THE PINKS AND PURPLES. IT’S BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE’VE SEEN THAT ON THE PREDICTOR. THAT’S POSSIBLY SOME SNOW MIXING IN WITH THE RAIN, BUT WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 40S AND UPPER 30S. IF YOU SEE THE FLAKES FLYING AT ELEVATION, IT’S NOT LIKELY TO STICK. WE’LL STILL HAVE SOME SHOWERS AROUND LATE TOMORROW EVENING, BUT THEY SHOULD CLEAR OUT BY THE TIME WE MAKE IT TO DAWN ON WEDNESDAY. AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS BACK IN FROM THE NORTHWEST. NOW, AS WE GO ON INTO WEDNESDAY, WE’RE DRY BUT FAIRLY CLOUDY. WE’LL POSSIBLY SEE SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS ON THURSDAY. BETTER CHANCES FOR A FEW SHOWERS WILL BE AROUND FOR FOOTBALL FRIDAY. AND NOTICE THE TEMPERATURES BACK INTO THE MID 50S FOR HIGHS. SHOWER CHANCES WILL LINGER INTO THE START OF THE WEEKEND, BUT THE END OF THE WEEKEND LOOKS DRY HEADING INTO THANKSGIVING WEEK. ISOLATED SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR MONDAY. BETTER CHANCES FOR SHOWERS WILL RETURN WEDNESDAY ON INTO THANKSGIVING EVE.
