SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania American Water says crews are making emergency repairs due to a water main break on Monday night in Scranton.
Officials report that they were contacted about a 12-inch water main break under Colfax Avenue and Linden Street at approximately 7:00 p.m.
About 30-40 residents are directly affected, with some in the affected area expected to experience cloudy or discolored water, low water pressure, or a complete loss of water.
Pennsylvania American Water states that repairs are anticipated to take approximately 13 hours to complete.
When crews are finished with repairs, residents might see temporary changes in their water.
For discoloration, Pennsylvania American Water advises residents to run cold water at the lowest level of their house. Residents experiencing cloudy water are advised to run water at the highest level of their house.
