Chilly rain, with the possibility of some very light snow, is expected to develop Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to forecasters.

A system should come to the area and bring rain late Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey. There is the potential for light snow more towards the Poconos.

Little to no snow accumulation is expected. Rain should clear up by late Wednesday morning.

Wednesday night and Thursday should be clear, with highs in the 40s. Another system could bring light rain to the area overnight Thursday into Friday, according to forecasters.

Any rain this week would be beneficial. As of Tuesday, only a little over a half an inch of rain has fallen so far this month in the Lehigh Valley, roughly an inch below normal, according to weather service data. The last few months have been dry as well.

Lehigh and Northampton counties both have drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.
