Two local businesses have united to support Berks County families in need this Thanksgiving.
Gourmand Cafe and JPrutzman Enterprises are collecting monetary donations through Nov. 21 to provide $200 Shillington Grocery Outlet gift cards to ensure families receive meaningful support for Thanksgiving and beyond.
“Uniting our efforts has amplified what we’re able to do,” said Jessica Prutzman, president of JPrutzman Enterprises. “Together with this incredible community, we’re creating a bigger, stronger impact for families who need it.”
For every $189.99 in donations the businesses receive, a $200 gift card to the grocery outlet will be given. Families will also get gift cards from Gourmand Cafe and Berks Deals & Steals.

Nominations for families in need can be submitted by sending private messages on the Facebook pages of Gourmand, JPrutzman Enterprises or Berks Deals & Steals
Participating businesses will be recognized across partner social media platforms, featured on six digital billboards throughout Berks, and entered into a drawing for a complimentary catered employee lunch — a small gesture of appreciation for their generosity.
Berks Deals & Steals will also be distributing 50 meals to families on Nov. 23 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 3838 Penn Ave. in Sinking Spring.
