“It’s very cool,” Woods told 69 News.
Woods established the business in 2010 with a single guitar string and a vision.
Each day since, she’s been transforming guitar strings into wearable music.
The business’ diverse guitar string jewelry, including bracelets, necklaces and earrings, resonate with music enthusiasts, musicians and those with an affinity for unique and detailed craftsmanship.
High Strung Studios also offers other “gifts that rock,” including music-themed coasters, keychains and greeting cards.
“My creative world was turned upside down the day I discovered that my old guitar strings were a perfect medium for jewelry design,” Woods wrote on the business’ website.

“Having been a musician for many years, I couldn’t believe what a rich trove of possibility had literally been right at my fingertips. The realization that guitar strings could be repurposed for jewelry ignited a spark. In a perfect melding of my love of music and passion for creating, High Strung Studios was born.”
Now in its 12th year, The 2025 Made in America Holiday Gift Guide, presented by The Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM), has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch and makes it easy for shoppers to find Pennsylvania-made products and support local businesses this holiday season.
Also featured in this year’s guide are Boathouse and Underdog Apparel in Philadelphia, Crazy Aarons in Norristown and PA Wilds Marketplace, an online and brick-and-mortar store with multiple locations where shoppers can find goods made in the Pennsylvania Wilds region.
“New polling finds that nearly four-in-five shoppers (76%) prefer to buy American-made products, and 83% report that they would buy more Made in USA products if they were more widely available at major retailers, like Target, Walmart and Amazon,” the release states. “The 2025 Made in America Gift Guide bridges that gap, connecting consumers with the craftsmanship, quality and well-paid jobs that come from buying Made in America.”

Shoppers can browse the guide by state or product category, and a new segment this year highlights local brick-and-mortar stores specializing in state-made goods for in-person shopping.
Additionally, AAM’s Made in America Directory spotlights 873 companies and their products that are not featured in this year’s guide.
The 2025 Made in America Holiday Gift Guide includes a holiday supplies category with seasonal home decor, wrapping paper, ornaments and greeting cards.
“The holiday shopping season is a critical financial period for any company, but, for Made in America businesses, it’s especially challenging,” Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul said.
“The U.S. advertising space is dominated by importers and large retailers. On top of that, the social media platforms through which many shoppers find Made in America companies are increasingly direct-to-consumer avenues for Chinese manufacturers. Our 2025 Made in America Holiday Gift Guide empowers consumers to buy the Made in America gifts they want to buy but aren’t readily finding.”

The Alliance for American Manufacturing is a non-profit, non-partisan partnership formed in 2007 by some of America’s leading manufacturers and the United Steelworkers.
Its mission is to strengthen American manufacturing and create new private-sector jobs through smart public policies.
“AAM achieves its mission through research, public education, advocacy, strategic communications, and coalition building around the issues that matter most to America’s manufacturers and workers,” an online description reads.
