SPRING TWP., Pa. – An accident in Spring Township brought down a utility pole and closed an area road while repairs are being made.

Emergency crews were dispatched just before 9 a.m. today to the 900 block of Mountain Home Road for a reported one-vehicle accident.

Arriving officers discovered that the car sheared a utility pole, which snapped in half was hanging by wires, before flipping onto its side.

Two people in the car were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Officials say Mountain Home Road will be closed for repairs between Montello Road and Columbia Avenue, likely through this afternoon.

Drivers are advised to expect delays in the area and seek an alternate route.
