Dense, freezing fog impacts morning commute with low visibility, slick roads across south-central Pennsylvania
WE’RE TAKING A LIVE LOOK OVER HERSHEY. YOU CAN SEE SOME FOG IN THE DISTANCE HERE. THE FLAGS ARE QUIET, THE WIND IS CALM. WE HAD CLEAR SKIES OVERNIGHT, OR AT LEAST PARTIAL CLEARING. NOW THE CLOUDS ARE STARTING TO FILL BACK IN, SO THAT SHOULD HELP OUR CAUSE. AS FAR AS FOG IS CONCERNED. BUT WE STILL HAVE AREAS OF DENSE FOG. AND WITH TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW DOWN INTO THE UPPER 20S, NEAR 30 DEGREES FOG, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT’S VERY DENSE, COULD MAKE SOME ROAD SURFACES LIKE BRIDGES, OVERPASSES, A LITTLE SLICK. SO I WANT YOU TO BE MINDFUL OF THAT, ESPECIALLY NORTH OF THE PA TURNPIKE, WHERE THE FOG IS THE THICKEST. HERE’S OUR NEWS EIGHT STORM TEAM FORECAST TODAY. WE HAVE AN IMPACT. MORNING FOR YOU. FREEZING FOG EARLY, THEN BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY AS THE CLOUDS FILL IN. TEMPERATURES WILL BE ABOVE FREEZING BY 9 A.M. FOR THE AFTERNOON. CLOUDY SKIES, COOL TEMPERATURES ONLY GET INTO THE MID 40S AGAIN. AND THEN THIS EVENING, OVERCAST AND CALM. WE’RE GOING TO KEEP THOSE CLOUDS AROUND TONIGHT. YOU GOT IT. MORE CLOUDS. TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 40 DEGREES. A LITTLE BIT WARMER THAN THIS MORNING FOR SURE. AND THEN TOMORROW WE’LL SEE. MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES. EVENING RAIN ROLLING IN. AND THEN A COLD FRONT COMES THROUGH ON SATURDAY, ENDING THAT THREAT FOR RAIN BY ABOUT SATURDAY AFTERNOON. SO WE’LL SEE SOME MORNING SHOWERS, AFTERNOON SHOWERS, POSSIBLY STILL POKING AROUND ON SATURDAY. HERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR TEMPERATURES. 28 IN LEWISTOWN WITH THE FOG, SO PLEASE USE CAUTION. IT’S 25 IN YORK, 28 IN LANCASTER, 28 DEGREES IN LEBANON. LOOK AT THE WIND SPEEDS COMPLETELY CALM ACROSS THE AREA, ALLOWING THAT FOG TO SETTLE IN. BUT RIGHT NOW WE’RE STARTING TO SEE CLOUDS COME BACK IN. TODAY IS GOING TO BE A DRY DAY. NO RAIN AROUND, BUT IT’S GOING TO BE CLOUDY. WE’RE JUST GOING TO BE STUCK UNDER THE CLOUDS, WHICH WON’T LET OUR TEMPERATURES GET OUT OF THE 40S ONCE AGAIN. SO ANOTHER DAY IN THE 40S FOR US. LOOK AT THOSE CLOUDS THICK OVER THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY TODAY INTO TONIGHT. TOMORROW YOU MIGHT SEE A FEW PEEKS OF SUN HERE OR THERE, MAYBE A STRAY SHOWER IN THE AFTERNOON. BUT THE HIGHEST CHANCE OF RAIN IS GOING TO COME IN LATE TOMORROW EVENING INTO TOMORROW NIGHT. THIS IS MIDNIGHT ON SATURDAY MORNING, AND THEN WE HEAD INTO SATURDAY, WHERE A COLD FRONT WILL BE PRESSING SOUTH, ENDING THE THREAT FOR ANY SCATTERED SHOWERS. BY AFTERNOON. WE COULD EVEN SEE SOME CLEARING LATE IN THE DAY ON SATURDAY. SO IF YOU HAVE SATURDAY EVENING PLANS, YOU’RE LOOKING GOOD THERE. THE RAIN WILL BE GONE. HERE’S THE PREDICTOR. ESTIMATED RAINFALL TOTALS IN THIS NEXT SYSTEM. IT’S BEEN A HARD ONE TO PIN DOWN. IT’S BEEN TO OUR SOUTH. IT’S COME NORTH. SO OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS THERE’S BEEN SOME VARIATION. I THINK OVERALL ON FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING, WE COULD SEE AROUND A HALF INCH TO UP TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH OF RAIN. HERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR TEN DAY FORECAST. TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE IN THE 50S THIS WEEKEND, AND MUCH OF NEXT WEEK. AT LEAST THE FIRST HALF OF IT. SO FOR THANKSGIVING TRAVEL, IT’S LOOKING BETTER AND BETTER. THAT SYSTEM THAT WE WERE PINNING DOWN FOR WEDNESDAY RAIN LOOKS TO BE MAINLY TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING NOW, SO MOST OF WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON EVENING IF YOU’RE TRAVELING LATER IN THE DAY, SHOULD BE DRYING OUT THURSDAY FOR THANKSGIVING. BLUSTERY AND COLDER 46. WE GO WITH 42 ON BLACK FRIDAY. CHECK OUT SATURDAY AT SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY, OF COURSE, AND YOUR TEMPERATURE IS ONLY 40, SO
