The University of Scranton’s Edward R. Leahy Clinic for the Uninsured recently launched an initiative to provide patients with access to lifesaving and sight-saving health screening at significantly reduced costs. The new Early Detection and Screening program will allow the clinic to provide necessary health tests and screenings for uninsured patients at reduced and negotiated prices. Patients will receive services such as colonoscopies, mammograms and retinal eye exams for patients with diabetes. The program was made possible through a grant from the Scranton Area Community Foundation’s Community Needs Grant Cycle.
