Pittsburgh’s new terminal opened smoothly, with travelers praising the efficient Transportation Security Administration lines and quick processing during the first weekend.It was the first major test for the airport, and passengers seemed pleasantly surprised. “I mean, it’s great. I’ve waited here before for a good 45 minutes to an hour or so. I’ll take it,” Mike Logan, who is traveling to Chicago, said.Travelers appreciated the streamlined experience, noting the quick lines at TSA and overall efficiency. Wait times initially reached up to 17 minutes, but workers quickly opened additional lanes, reducing the wait to just 10 minutes. Later in the morning, some travelers were able to walk right up without any wait. The new security setup features 12 lanes equipped with state-of-the-art screening technology, making the process quicker and more efficient. “I’m excited for that. It makes traveling a little bit easier,” said Natalie Steiff from Pittsburgh. One of the best features of the new terminal is that travelers no longer have to remove their shoes or laptops during screening. “No one wants to take your shoes off and go through that whole process. So, save time, get more beer. That’s it,” Logan said. It’s looking like Wednesday is going to be the busiest day for holiday travel.
