The Berks County coroner’s office was called to the scene of a fatal crash Friday night in Muhlenberg Township, a deputy in the coroner’s office confirmed.
Crews responded to the scene on Route 222 southbound in the area of Stoudts Ferry Bridge Road about 9 p.m., according to initial reports, which indicated a car involved in the crash was driving the wrong way on the divided highway at the time of the crash.
The southbound lane was closed for an extended time.
No further information was available Saturday morning.
