Erie police investigating stabbing on city’s west side Sunday

A 23-year-old has been hospitalized after being stabbed in the chest.

According to Erie City Deputy Police Chief Rick Lorah, a stab victim walked into UPMC Hamot around 2 am Sunday.

Although the victim suffered from a collapsed lung, he is being uncooperative with the authorities.

Lorah says the incident happened near West 31st and Chestnut Streets after a fight broke out. Their major crimes unit continues to investigate.
