The guys believed all year long and just fought for each other, stayed together. It’s just unbelievable that we were all able to accomplish this and do it together. I’m really happy and proud of the group.” Griffin also spoke on the trophy, which reportedly sustained minor damage after the game. “Yeah, I know there is some damage to it already, the guys were enjoying it, the Steel Army got to hold it, we got to celebrate at a pub somewhere in Tulsa after the game, so it was nice to be with them, the team, the whole organization.”The team won the title Saturday after beating FC Tulsa in a penalty kick shootout during the championship game in Oklahoma. The team said they defeated FC Tulsa 5-3 on penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw today at ONEOK Field. In addition, Goalkeeper Eric Dick was named the Most Valuable Player of the final after making five saves in the match and an additional stop during the shootout.Dick recorded the clean sheet in all four rounds of the playoffs, as the Hounds became the first team to win the USL Championship without allowing a single goal in the playoffs, the team said in a release following the victory.
