POTTSVILLE — Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill is among 12 Jefferson Health hospitals to receive an A-rating for safety from The Leapfrog Group, the Philadelphia-based hospital network announced.

Also among those earning an A-rating, Leapfrog’s highest, were Lehigh Valley Hospitals in Hazleton, Pocono and Dickson City.

Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono earned an A-rating for the fourth consecutive time.

“Jefferson Health’s mission is fundamentally about improving lives through compassionate, high-quality care,” said Baligh R. Yehia, president. “This recognition is a direct reflection of prioritizing excellence in everything we do.”

Earning a B-rating were Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest; Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg and Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hecktown in  Oaks.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit, utilizes evidence-based measures in evaluating patient safety in the areas of errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
