Bensalem Police said that the man bit his wife on the arm following a verbal altercation and then intentionally drove away with her partially hanging out of the passenger side of the vehicle, causing her to be dragged along the roadway, causing injuries to her foot, Police Officer Nicholas Finley said in the criminal complaint.
The woman was able to get inside the vehicle, where the man began to strike her in the face and head, causing injuries to her head, the complaint states.
She pleaded with her husband to get out, but the man refused, police said.
The man then threatened to kill his wife if she exited and drove her 117 miles on the PA Turnpike at speeds over 100 mph, the complaint states.
Police said that once the vehicle ran out of gas, the woman was able to get away and call police while the man fled the scene.
