Images from the WTAE archive show trucks dumping mounds of snow into the rivers. This event tops the list of Pittsburgh’s biggest snowstorms with nearly 27 1/2 inches over three days. Other records include a November daily snowfall record of 14 inches set on Nov. 24, and low temperatures in the single digits on Nov. 25 and 26. This snowstorm kicked off Pittsburgh’s snowiest winter on record with 82 inches.

Snowfall between November 22-30, 1950 shows a bullseye over the Ohio Valley, in particular for western Pennsylvania.
