MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa. – Authorities have released the identity of a woman killed in an apparent wrong-way crash on Route 222 in Muhlenberg Township.
93-year-old Elizabeth Brewer of Spring Township died Friday night following an accident that shut down the southbound lanes of 222 between routes 61 and 183.
Initial reports indicated a car was driving the wrong way on Route 222 at the time of the crash.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office says Brewer died of multiple blunt force trauma and that her manner of death was accidental.
Police investigating the accident have not said whether Brewer was the driver of the wrong-way vehicle or if anyone else was injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
