A 46-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a home in Philly’s Strawberry Mansion neighborhood late Monday and, police believe, they victim was killed by a family member who is on the loose.
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, first responders to a reported shooting at a home along the 2100 block of North 32nd Street at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday, to find a 46-year-old man unresponsive on the kitchen floor after being shot twice in the chest.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where, Small said, he was pronounced at about 12:47 a.m.
Family members and witnesses at the scene told police, Small said, that the victim, who did not live at the home, was shot after being involved in a verbal altercation with a younger man, who lived at the home.
At some point during that argument, Small said, the younger man produced a firearm and fired at least four times, hitting the victim in the chest, before fleeing the scene.
