The United Way of Berks County has published its annual guide for holiday volunteering and gift-giving opportunities.

The guide provides information on the needs of agencies serving the county, nonprofit wish lists and a variety of volunteering opportunities.

“Individuals, employee teams and families can make a difference in the life of a child, family, older adult, organization or individual during the holiday season,” the organization said in a statement.

Opportunities for individuals, families and teams range from delivering holiday meals to homebound seniors, serving as Santa’s helpers and holiday crafters, and supporting holiday food drives.

Area nonprofits also need many items to help make the season brighter for those in need. Individuals and organizations can help by donating to clothing, food and toy drives and Secret Santa lists.

There are more than 50 opportunities throughout Berks to choose from.

The guide is available on United Way’s website at wberks.org/holiday-guide/.
