ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk’s proposed 2026 budget includes a property tax increase.
The $245 million budget includes a 3.96%Â property tax increase and a previously approved $140 increase in garbage fees, according to a news release from the city.
City council and the administration must adopt an annual budget no later than Dec. 31, the city said.
Property owners can view how the proposed property tax increase would affect their taxes using the Property Tax Lookup Tool on the city’s website at www.allentownpa.gov/budget.
The city said the proposed budget is available for public review at City Hall, the Allentown Public Library, the Lehigh County Law Library, and online on the city’s website.
City Council’s committees have scheduled a series of public meetings to review departmental budgets, the city said in its news release. Council may schedule additional meetings at the request of four members or by the council president.
