One of the Inland Empire’s most beloved holiday traditions is making its long-awaited return. LifeHouse Theater proudly announces the revival of Bethlehem Marketplace, an immersive theatrical journey through the streets of first-century Bethlehem, running nightly from Dec. 10 through Dec. 20 (with no performances on Sunday, Dec. 14) at Pathway Church, located at 611 E. Cypress Avenue, Redlands.
“‘Bethlehem Marketplace’ is not just a play — it’s a shared cultural and spiritual encounter,” said Wayne R. Scott, founder and president of LifeHouse Theater. “We encourage people to experience the story, walk the journey, and witness the birth of Hope. From children to seniors, visitors often find themselves deeply moved and forever changed.”
Based on the Gospel of Luke, this walk-through theatrical event brings the Christmas story to life like never before. Guests are led in groups of 10 by biblical guides Zebulun and Rebekah through the bustling village streets of Bethlehem, encountering Roman soldiers, marketplace merchants, gossiping villagers, census takers, philosophers, dancers, and more — all culminating in a powerful and reverent encounter with the living Nativity.
Tours depart by reservation every five minutes between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. each evening, allowing guests to experience the event in small groups with staggered entry times for a more personal and immersive journey through the recreated city.
For over a decade, “Bethlehem Marketplace” captivated more than 50,000 attendees at its former location in Yucaipa, where thousands of guests reported life-changing moments of faith, inspiration, and renewal. Now, after years of anticipation and prayer, this transformational event returns by popular demand with a renewed vision and an enduring message of hope.
Throughout the tour and behind the scenes, the production includes 200 dedicated volunteers who help bring the ancient city to life. LifeHouse Theater is currently welcoming participants to join the effort in a variety of roles, including performers, set builders, costumers, tech crew, and general support staff.
