• Christmas concert by Mount Laurel Brass presented by the Cultural Series Team at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 117 E. Arch St., Fleetwood, 3 p.m. Mount Laurel Brass is a seven-piece brass ensemble from Berks and Chester counties. Mount Laurel Brass takes the traditional brass quintet instrumentation, two trumpets, French horn, trombone, tuba, and adds an additional trombone euphonium for a larger, fuller sound. You do not need tickets, but there will be a free will offering to help defray the costs.

Dec. 1

• Deadline to order turkey potpie from St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 219 Maidencreek Road, Richmond Township, $10 per quart. Call Beverly at 484-529-1893 to orrder. Pick up at Christmas bazaar, which will be held on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be a variety of cookies to buy.  The white elephant sale includes vintage 33 rpm jazz, big band, etc. albums, 78 rpm records, children’s golden records and other vintage items, along with CD’s, books, household goods and decorations. There are crafters and lunch items for sale. A free picture with Santa is offered from 10 a.m.-noon.

• Christian pet loss support group, St. John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, in the church’s fellowship hall, 6:45 p.m. Sessions are led by Dr. Becky Frank, associate veterinarian with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice. Frank is also certified in thanatology (death, loss, grief and bereavement). The program entails six different sessions and participants may join at any time. This group is open to the public and is offered at no charge. Questions should be directed to office@stjohnsss.org. RSVP to that email if you are planning to attend. Parking is located behind the church, and the fellowship hall is on the lower level.

Dec. 3

• Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill, 2803 Tulpehocken Road, Spring Township. Visitors can stroll the grounds to view light display that highlights the historic buildings and landscaping at Gring’s Mill. Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill will be open from Wednesday to Sunday; Dec. 10-14; and from Dec. 16-23. Hours are from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with free parking and admission. Visitors can enjoy food and beverages from local food trucks, warm up next to the fire pit and listen to live music in the outdoor pavilion each night (music from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.).  Don’t miss a chance to get an up-close look at our model train display in the former generator station on the bridge. Santa will be on site on all opening days in his Christmas Tree Lane located in the barn, featuring trees decorated by local community groups.

Dec. 6

• Christmas bazaar, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 47 S. Whiteoak St., Kutztown, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Christmas mice, baked goods, cookies, crafts, books, take-out food.

• Kids holiday craft workshop, Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, Bern Township, noon-3 p.m. Drop in to the barn at the Heritage Center to make some holiday crafts!  Stop by and visit Santa at the Epler’s Schoolhouse while you’re on site. For ages 3 and up. Free.

• Spring Valley Boutique, Spring Valley Church of God, 2727 Old Pricetown Road, Muhlenberg Township, 10-11:30 a.m. Most items at the boutique are free. Featured items vary by month (depending on donations) but frequently include clothing for women, men and children, shoes, handbags, jewelry, etc. Anyone looking to donate used items to this ministry can do so during boutique hours. • Bernville Christmas shopping tour, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.  Tour starts at St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main St., with 30 craft vendors. Homemade cookies and breakfast/lunch food will be for sale. • Daniel Boone Holiday Craft Show, Daniel Boone Middle School, 1845 Weavertown Road, Amity Township, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The craft show will feature quality handcrafted items from over 100 crafters, raffle, free admission, free parking and refreshments.

• Christmas bazaar, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Road, Amity Township, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. It will feature wreaths and cemetery boxes made with fresh greens, homemade pies, cookies, apple dumplings, candy, chow chow, crafts, raffle, flute recital, attic treasures and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Dec. 7

• A Homestead Holiday, Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Road, Exeter Township, noon-4 p.m. Experience Christmas as it was almost 300 years ago. Visitors can learn about English and Pennsylvania German holiday celebrations, listen to the Homestead Carolers, visit with Santa and the Belsnickel and enjoy Christmas crafts and activities. Throughout the historic area, visitors will hear about the different Christmas traditions of the families who lived on the property throughout the 18th century as they tour the festively decorated buildings. In the Boone House, volunteers will cook a Christmas meal in the hearth and talk about the English Christmas traditions. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for youth 6-17. Children under 5 and Daniel Boone Homestead Association members are free.

• Ringgold Band Christmas Concert, Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, 2 p.m. A free-will offering will be received. A reception will follow in the church’s parish hall.

Dec. 9

• Trail tales, Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, Bern Township, 10 a.m. Get wrapped up in a trail tale and discover plants and animal friends in our parks. This toddler-age program focuses on a nature topic each month partnered with a story and a craft. Geared toward children ages 3-5. Free. • Adult ornament workshop, Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, Bern Township, noon-3 p.m. Make your own handmade ornaments to invite some holiday cheer into your home. Join Heritage Center staff as they walk you through some DIY ornament creations, including tin punch, felt and salt dough ornaments. Since some of these ornaments will be a bit difficult to make, we recommend this program for ages over 16. Any children from 12-16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Free.
