Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will be the opening speaker next week at the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Lehigh Valley Healthcare Summit.
The celebrity doctor and former Senate candidate will deliver the summit’s opening address, “The CMS Vision: Affordable and Accessible Care.”
The annual Lehigh Valley Health Care Summit on Dec. 5 brings together health care professionals, business leaders and community members to discuss the region’s health care landscape, with expert presentations, panel discussions and interactive exhibits.
In addition to Oz’s opening address, the event will include an update on the Blue Zones healthy living program; a panel discussion on what’s driving health care costs; and presentations on digital dependency and direct primary care. The 2025 Healthcare Hero Award will be presented to Alvin H. Butz Inc. for being the first recognized Blue Zone worksite in the region. The 2025 Healthcare Innovator Award will be presented to to Lehigh University College of Health for the creation of the new University Research Center for Community Driven Assistive Technologies and the continuing partnership with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation.
