For most families, Thanksgiving means preparing a lot of food at home; an activity which sometimes requires last minute trips to the grocery store. In the Hellertown area the Giant supermarket at 1880 Leithsville Road is the main establishment on which many residents rely for their grocery needs, which is why they should be aware that it will close early on Thanksgiving Day.
According to signs posted at the store, the Hellertown Giant will close at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27. The store’s listing on Google indicates that it will open at 6 a.m. Thursday.
The Hellertown Giant’s regular hours are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., daily.
Giant operates approximately 15 stores in the Lehigh Valley area. Other Giant stores may have slightly different holiday hours.
Pennsylvania’s Fine Wine & Good Spirits (liquor) stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Supermarkets such as the Hellertown Giant that have beer and wine licenses, however, will sell those items to individuals in need of last minute libations.
A sign in the entrance to the Hellertown Giant informs customers that the store will close early at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
