WYOMISSING, Pa. – Businesses banded together to give families one more reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving.
Gourmand Cafe in Wyomissing, JPrutzman Enterprises, and Shillington Grocery Outlet have been working together to help those in need.
They’ve been collecting, preparing and distributing Thanksgiving meals. They call the effort, “Serve Love This Thanksgiving.”
Over the past few weeks, more businesses joined in, donating things like cakes and flowers.
People picked up meals at Gourmand Cafe on Wednesday morning.
“It’s just really warmed our hearts, the outpouring of support that we’ve gotten from the community,” said Jessica Prutzman, president of JPrutzman Enterprises. “We worked with local social workers within four different school districts, so we’ve gotten vetted families that really need our help this year.”
Families also received gift cards so they can come back to the café and enjoy a meal after the holiday.
