Erie Mayor Joe Schember announced the recipients of the 2025 Erie Flagship Fund on Monday at his press conference.

The funds can be up to $5,000 to help assist small businesses within the Erie area.

This year, just over $148,000 was awarded to 38 businesses.

Two recipients of the fund, Casey Corritore, the owner of Casey’s Ice Cream Cart, and Max Weber, the co-founder of Shop Hero Dashboard, said they are grateful for what the city is able to do to help them.

“Oh my gosh, it’s such an honor to be supported by the city,” Corritore said. “What can I say? The city loves ice cream.”

“It’s amazing,” Weber said. “I mean, the mayor and the state of Pennsylvania have done a great job supporting small businesses. We’re excited to be a part of it.”

The fund comes from interest on the city’s revolving loan funds.

The city does a Flagship Fund for both the spring and fall for applicants who want to apply. You can visit the city of Erie’s website for more information.
