PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — For some families, Thanksgiving meant skipping the kitchen and heading out for a holiday meal in Center City Philadelphia.
Linda Friedman of Cherry Hill was among those who chose to let someone else handle the cooking this year. She and her family celebrated at Bank and Bourbon on Market Street.
“I do not like to cook,” Friedman said.
The restaurant offered a full Thanksgiving menu, cocktails and a festive atmosphere.
“They come in, they don’t have anything to worry about, anything to clean up. They’re just here to enjoy, spend time with their family, and we’ll do all the work for them,” said Daniella Iaconelli, director of outlets at Bank and Bourbon.
Friedman’s family traveled from California and north and central Jersey to join her for the holiday. She was happy to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
“What else is there but family,” Friedman said.
Bank and Bourbon has opened its doors every Thanksgiving for years, and staff say the holiday is always busy.
“We’re very busy every year for Thanksgiving. We have some guests who come every single year, and we really appreciate when everyone comes in to spend the holidays with us,” Iaconelli said.
For Friedman, the day wasn’t over after the meal.
“We’re going home to have an ice cream party,” she said.
Bank & Bourbon is open until 12 a.m. on Thursday.
