The Lehigh County coroner on Friday released the identity of a 21-year-old Allentown man who died from injuries sustained when the car he was riding in hit a utility pole earlier this week.
Andy I. Uruchima Lema was a front-seat passenger in the vehicle that hit a utility pole Monday night on Flint Hill Road near Forest Drive in Upper Saucon Township, Coroner Daniel Buglio said.
The vehicle was traveling eastbound about 9:15 p.m. when it lost traction, spun sideways and hit a utility pole. Lema was trapped between the vehicle and the pole. Firefighters removed him from the vehicle, and he was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Buglio said Lema’s cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
A 20-year-old man and 22-year-old woman also were injured and taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by ambulance, police said.
