EXETER TWP., Pa. – Some Berks County Starbucks baristas were out early for Black Friday, but not behind the counter.

Instead, those workers are picketing for a new contract.

Earlier today in Exeter Township, union Starbucks baristas joined the longest strike in the company’s history. It started earlier this month, on ‘Red Cup Day.’

And it’s since grown to include 2,500 baristas across 85 cities.

Workers say the company has been union busting and they still don’t have a fair union contract.

Starbucks said the strike has caused minimal disruption to its operations.

The company said it is prepared to talk when the union is ready to return to the bargaining table.
