Winds relax late this evening; tracking two winter storms Sunday & Tuesday for south-central Pennsylvania

Winds will still be gusty at times this evening, but will relax slightly heading into tonight. It’ll still be cold heading into the weekend, and we’re watching a couple opportunities of unsettled weather in the extended forecast, including chances for rain/snow next week.

SPEND WITH SMALL BUSINESSES INSTEAD. IT’S BEEN BLUSTERY AND CHILLY FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE DAY TODAY, INCLUDING FOR YOUR BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING, ESPECIALLY EARLIER THIS MORNING WHERE IT FELT LIKE IT WAS IN THE TEENS, ESPECIALLY WITH THOSE WINDS GUSTING IN THE AIR STORM TEAM LIVE RADAR NETWORK EARLIER HAD SOME SNOW SQUALL WARNINGS FOR MIFFLIN, JUNIATA AND PERRY COUNTIES, BUT SINCE THEN THAT IS NOW EXPIRED. STILL, WATCHING A FEW SNOW SHOWER CHANCES AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THIS EVENING AND LATER ON INTO TONIGHT. BUT LET’S ZOOM INTO SOME OF THESE COMMUNITIES. YOU CAN SEE THAT THIS THIS WAS THE MAIN SNOW SQUALL THAT WAS HAPPENING, BUT YOU CAN SEE IT’S NOW STARTING TO STARTING TO SHRINK IN SIZE, I WOULD SAY, AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE SOUTHEAST, YOU SEE SOME OTHER LITTLE AREAS OF SOME LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS TOWARDS BLAINE, NEWVILLE ALSO MOVING IN OVER DILLSBURG RIGHT NOW IN YORK COUNTY. BUT WE’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO WATCH THESE AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THIS EVENING. BUT THE THEME, THE THEME TODAY WERE THE GUSTY WINDS AND THE VERY CHILLY WIND CHILLS OUT THERE. HERE’S SOME OF THE GUSTS FROM HARRISBURG, LANCASTER, YORK, LEBANON AND CARLISLE RANGING INTO THE 40S. YOU CAN SEE A 48 MILE PER HOUR GUST IN CARLISLE, A 41 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS IN LEBANON, A 45 MILE PER HOUR GUST IN LANCASTER, 41 IN HARRISBURG AND THEN YORK, A 38 MILE PER HOUR GUSTS AND SUSTAINED WINDS INTO THE 20S. SO DEFINITELY A BREEZY DAY OUT THERE. I’D SAY A GUSTY DAY OUT THERE AND STILL GOING TO BE BRISK AS WE BEGIN. AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THIS EVENING AND INTO TONIGHT. BUT WINDS WILL BEGIN TO RELAX. WE’LL END THAT IMPACT PERIOD RIGHT AT 7:00 HERE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. COLD START TO YOUR SATURDAY. NOT AS WINDY THOUGH, I’LL SAY. NOT AS WINDY AS TODAY. STILL A LITTLE BIT BREEZY FOR YOUR SATURDAY, BUT THEN ONCE WE GET INTO SUNDAY, WE’RE WATCHING OUR NEXT SYSTEM THAT’S GOING TO BRING NOT ONLY A SNOW RAIN MIX FOR THE MORNING, BUT ALSO SOME MORE SCATTERED TO ALMOST WIDESPREAD RAIN FOR THE AFTERNOON AND THE EVENING, SO THAT WE’VE MADE THIS AN IMPACT DAY, BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE FOLKS THAT ARE THAT ARE DRIVING HOME FROM THANKSGIVING FESTIVITIES OR VISITING VISITING FAMILY. YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE FORECAST. AS WE GET INTO THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEKEND. SO YOUR WEATHER PLANNER FOR THE REST OF THIS EVENING EXPECT MOSTLY CLEAR CONDITIONS. STILL A LITTLE BIT BREEZY ONCE AGAIN, ENDING THAT IMPACT PERIOD AT 7:00 TONIGHT. MOSTLY CLEAR CHILLS INTO THE LOW 20S. WE’LL GET INTO THE MID. WE’LL GET INTO THE MID 20S FOR OVERNIGHT TONIGHT IN TERMS OF TEMPERATURES. AND THEN FOR TOMORROW MOSTLY SUNNY 40 DEGREES. NOT AS WINDY LIKE I MENTIONED TEMPERATURE VERSUS THE WIND CHILL. YOU CAN SEE GOING DOWN THROUGH THE MID 30S. WILL GO FOR LATE THIS EVENING, THEN DOWN TO THE LOW 30S. BY THE TIME WE MAKE IT TO TEN 12:00, 2:00 AS WE GET INTO TONIGHT, BUT FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES INTO THE LOWER 20S. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY LAST MINUTE BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING, YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU BUNDLE UP BECAUSE IT’S IT’S GOING TO BE COLD. AS WE GET INTO THE REST OF THIS EVENING, INTO TONIGHT, FEELING LIKE THE 20S WITH GUSTS UP TO ALMOST 40MPH. STILL, THEY’LL BEGIN TO AGAIN RELAX AS WE GET INTO LATER THIS EVENING. STILL, WITH THOSE WINDS BETWEEN 15 TO 25MPH COULD STILL SEE ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES FOR THE DAY FOR FOR THIS EVENING. BUT IN TERMS OF PICKING THE PERFECT TREE FOR TOMORROW, MOSTLY SUNNY CONDITIONS THROUGH THE ENTIRETY OF THE DAY, IT’S. ONCE WE GET INTO THE EVENING, THAT’S WHEN WE’LL BEGIN TO INCREASE IN THE SKY COVER OR THE SKY COVER WILL BEGIN TO INCREASE. IN THE CLOUDS. YOU CAN SEE 36 DEGREES BY THE END OF THE EVENING, BUT YOU SHOULD BE GOOD FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY TO GO OUTSIDE AND GET THAT TREE FOR YOUR FAMILY. TEMPERATURES INTO THE MID 30S. YOU CAN SEE 36 IN GETTYSBURG, 35 IN LANCASTER AT THIS TIME, STILL SEEING SUSTAINED WINDS OUT OF THE WEST. I SAY, YOU CAN SEE THEY’RE BEGINNING TO RELAX NOW. SO I’D SAY BETWEEN 10 AND 15, ALMOST 20MPH FOR THIS EVENING ACROSS THE AREA. AND WIND CHILLS DOWN INTO THE MID 20S AND UPPER 20S FOR SOME SPOTS. STILL GOING TO KEEP AN EYE ON A FEW OF THESE SNOW SHOWERS THAT ARE MOVING THROUGH OUR NORTHWESTERN COMMUNITIES. BUT AS HIGH PRESSURE BRIEFLY BUILDS INTO THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, THAT’S GOING TO ALLOW FOR MOSTLY SUNNY CONDITIONS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF SATURDAY. NOW, ONCE WE GET INTO LATE SATURDAY, GETTING INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING, HERE COMES OUR NEXT SYSTEM. THAT’S WHAT’S GOING TO BRING THE CHANCE OF SOME SNOW OR A WINTRY MIX, ESPECIALLY SNOW IN THE HIGHER ALTITUDES TOWARDS SOUTH MOUNTAIN, MIFFLIN AND JUNIATA COUNTIES. WE’RE GETTING CLOSER TO THE APPALACHIANS, RIGHT. AND THEN ONCE WE GET INTO CLOSER TOWARDS THE AFTERNOON AND THEN TOWARDS THE EVENING, THAT’S WHEN IT’S GOING TO START TO TURN OVER TO RAIN FOR OUR SUNDAY. NOW, THE HERE’S SOME OF THE DETAILS FOR OUR SUNDAY. IT’S A MEDIUM IMPACT TIMING ONCE AGAIN FOR MORNING ELEVATED SNOW PM ELEVATED MIX AND THEN VALLEY RAIN SHOWERS. AND THEN THIS TYPE OF THE TYPE OF STORM THIS IS GOING TO BE IS GOING TO DEPEND ON THE TRACK AND YOUR ELEVATION. AND THEN THAT’S GOING TO DETERMINE THE PRECIPITATION TYPE AND THE DURATION. BUT THERE’S STILL GOING TO BE SLIPPERY TRAVEL AND WET ROADWAYS. NOW SOMETHING ELSE WE’RE KEEPING AN EYE ON REAL QUICK. BRIEF LOOK AT FOR TUESDAY. WE ARE LOOKING AT A CHANCE OF SOME SNOW SHOWERS FOR OUR TUESDAY. WE’RE KEEPING AN EYE ON IT IN TERMS OF WHERE IT’S GOING TO BE RIGHT NOW. THIS IS WHAT WE’RE THINKING. MEDIUM CHANCE AND A HIGHER CHANCE. THE FARTHER NORTHWEST YOU GO IN TERMS OF SNOWFALL AMOUNTS, THAT IS SOMETHING THAT WE HAVE STILL YET TO IRON OUT AS WE GET INTO THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. SO WE’VE MADE TUESDAY AS AN IMPACT DAY FOR THAT CHANCE OF A RAIN SNOW MIX. LOOKING AHEAD INTO NEXT WEEK F
