READING, Pa. – One of the stars of the show “The Office” is sending her best wishes to the Reading School District’s more than 2,000 staff members.
Kate Flannery played “Meredith” on the hit TV show.
She addressed school staff in a video the district shared on social media. Flannery grew up in Montgomery County, and in the video she talked about her ties to Reading.
“Hey, Reading School District. It’s me, Kate Flannery. Meredith from ‘The Office.’ Hey. I’m also from Pennsylvania. I love Reading. And I want to wish you guys all the best in this 25-26 school year. It’s going to be great. So happy opening day. I’ve been to Reading may times because my grandmother used to live there. This is true. You guys are the best. You deserve more than a ‘Dundie.’ Thank you for all you do for all the kids in Reading, Pa,” Flannery said.
Flannery also played a little piano, including a nod to the show’s theme, in the minute-long video.
