The Pittsburgh Steelers received some positive injury news on Friday with multiple players who were questionable coming into the week being ready to go.
The first was quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who will play with a broken left wrist after missing last week.
“He was a full participant once again. He will have no game designation. All systems go,” head coach Mike Tomlin said of Rodgers.
Tomlin added that he saw Rodgers take more reps this week, which led to a higher level of comfort for the team after he missed last week’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Wide receiver DK Metcalf will also play after suffering an ankles sprain against the Chicago Bears. He practiced fully the last two days after missing Wednesday’s practice.
Outside Alex Highsmith has missed the last two games with a pectoral injury he suffered against the Los Angeles Chargers, but will return this week. He played through it in that game and made it worse, causing him to miss time.
Highsmith battled a high ankle sprain earlier this year that forced him to miss three games.
The Steelers will also get cornerback Joey Porter Jr. back from a hip flexor strain that has made him limited throughout most of the week.
Defensive lineman Cam Heyward had an ankle injury that kept him limited. He is listed without a game designation. Lastly, despite missing the first two practices of the week, Ben Skowronek will play with a shoulder injury after a full practice on Friday.
