ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man has been sentenced to serve decades in state prison for his role in a murder last year in a city park.
Carlos Landesta-Agramonte, 20, pleaded guilty in September to charges of third-degree murder and conspiracy to commit third-degree murder, both third-degree felonies.
At a hearing Monday, Lehigh County Judge Thomas M. Caffrey sentenced Landesta-Agramonte to 20 to 40 years in state prison, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
Landesta-Agramonte was among five people charged in the death of 25-year-old Angel Martinez-Velez, who was shot multiple times while playing basketball June 1, 2024, at Fountain Park.

A jury last month convicted Grelvis Estevez-Cabrera of multiple felonies, including first-degree murder, court records show.
Estevez-Cabrera is due to be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 13, 2026 before Judge Caffrey. He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
Alfeni Romero-Taveras, Joel Garcia-Paulino and Wilmer Esquiel Marte-Tavarez all are awaiting trial.
Authorities allege two gunmen shot at Martinez-Velez before fleeing in a vehicle.
City cameras recorded two vehicles — a blue Honda Accord and a white Infiniti traveling behind it — speeding away from the park and traveling together.
Authorities linked Landesta-Agramonte and Estevez-Cabrera, of Bethlehem, to the Infiniti; police identified Garcia-Paulino as the man driving the Accord.
Surveillance footage allegedly showed Garcia-Paulino helping his co-defendants move items from the cars.
Romero-Taveras and Marte-Tavarez also were present at the shooting, according to authorities.
